A couple years ago I wrote a little program that would convert a GPS track to flight info such as forward speed, downward speed, altitude, heading, glide ratio, and such. I never really did anything with it, except use it in 2 videos: Flight over Empuria and a flight over Teuge, the Netherlands.
But now Guilliame Richard has incorporated my code into a program you can actually download and run on your computer! You can download the program (for different operating systems) here: GPX2SRT. It will convert a GPS track to a SRT subtitle file, which you can encode into your video with VirtualDub.
It still needs a bit of documentation, but it's not too hard to figure out.
Enjoy!
