Articles on wingsuit BASE jumper Heather Swan

UK newspaper websites Mail Online and The Sun both have an article on Heather Swan, Australian wingsuit BASE jumper. Check it out for some really nice pictures of her and her husband jumping from a peak of Mt Meru in Tanzania (the peak is at 6.6km above sea level! 21600ft!). And yes, they have snow in Africa, in case you were wondering.

Read the article at Mail Online here and The Sun here.

  1. Hi Costyn, thanks for posting the link to the Mail Online and The Sun, and as nice as it is to have something you've done written up, there are MAJOR errors in the story. Glenn Singleman and I jumped from Mt Meru (6672m) in the Garwhal Himalaya in India, not Mt Mehru in Tanzania. It took us 23 days, not 23 hours to climb the mountain. I started basejumping nine years ago in 2000, not 2005 and we are not the only married couple who jump together.
    Blue skies
    Heather Swan

  2. Hi Heather,

There should be an award for media that get a story completely right. Its almost praise-worthy how they manage to twist facts, and distort truth to make stories a tad more exiting for the general population.
