Swiss Valley Wingsuit Trip, Winter 2010

Stealth2 - Maiden Flight (Sept 2009)

wingsuit: stealth2
exit: 12.500 ft (high speed, plane slightly diving)
pull: 3.500 ft (open 3.300 ft)
freefall time: 2:52

A slightly older video, showing the first jump I did on my production model Stealth2.
I had not jumped for 2 months, due to a broken collar-bone in Ukraine (sorry about that one..;) and had been looking at this one, hanging there un-used for all that time...

This is one of the few solos where I just did max flight, as normaly Im doing acro practice when jumping solo. So I decided to upload it as proof that I do try and fly maxed out for the occasional jump or two ;)

I was enjoying the sun, and trying to pass the clouds. Couldnt resist a bit of diving and swooping through the clouds near the end, so not cruising at max (slow) fallrate the whole jump.
Still got close to 3 minutes. Not doing the diving/swooping thing near the end would probably have me cruise by that one with ease.

Ill try and do some long solo stuff sometime soon again!

Gibolin: Fastest Wingsuit on the Planet

A short text and video on the creator of the Gibolin wingsuit which, according to its designer, outflies all current wingsuit models due to its innovative design features and technology.

Here is the achievement of 8 years of hard work, trying to increase the glide ratio of the fiight with a wingsuit, building 3 prototypes by myself. The result was a 3.7 without previous steep diving.
I've based my work on biomechanics, anatomy and physics. I've had the help of many specialists such as a sail maker and also Yves Rossy, Mr "Jet-man" who lives next door to me.

This is a movie to share the thrill and passion of this great adventre we could all live!

Skyaking... wait, what?

Although not strictly about wingsuits, we came across these two articles on British news sites Mail Online and The Daily Telegraph which both feature a similar article about Miles Daisher who skydives with a kayak. Wingsuits are required to take pictures of this unusual discipline because the freefall speed is below 100mph. Apparently his antics will be featured in an upcoming 3D movie, which I'm guessing will be the IMAX movie being shot by Red Bull featured in earlier posts. has some footage, in which I don't actually see the other skydivers wearing wingsuits...

Read the full articles at Mail Online here and here.

The Docked Wingsuit Challenge 2010

From Flock University:

Flock University
presents: The Docked Wingsuit Challenge 2010
With the goal of pushing the boundaries of wingsuit flight, Flock U encourages wingsuiters to hone their docked flying skills this summer. For this purpose, the Docked Challenge was created as an international online-submission wingsuit competition for building the best linked formations to date.

Between Feb 10th and Sep 10th 2010 wingsuiters from all over the world are encouraged to submit proof (pictures, video) of their docked formations.
Winners will receive prizes from various sponsors, so far including Tonysuits (10% off) and Phoenix-Fly (25% off), with several other sponsored prizes awaiting confirmation.

Formations are judged on a simple point system: 1 point for every hand on hand dock, 2 points for every hand on foot dock (to encourage flying of harder formations). For a complete list of rules, visit this page.
Submit your docked formations, enjoy and fly safely!
