On 10/29/10 I was fortunate enough to have Douglas Spotted Eagle teach me my First Flight Course. I was pretty nervous & tense during the ground training. For me it was alot like AFF again, SCARY! In the end, I did just fine, I cannot wait to do more WS jumps next week! Thanks Spot & Ike!!

Wingsuit inspired car?
Edmunds Inside Line posted an article about this Honda concept car.
Honda Air concept for the L.A. show Design Challenge is a "coastal cruiser for the aggressive lifestyle" with compressed air/pneumatic drive with the bonus of turbo vacuums. Inspiration was the skydiving wing suit and the modern rollercoaster, says Honda.
I guess we'll hear more about it when the LA Auto show kicks off. We'll keep you posted on details of what is wingsuit inspired.

Jackass 3D features stunt with wingsuit
From the MTV Movie Blog comes a post about the new Jackass 3D movie. They try to figure out how much the stunt cost where they have Ryan Dunn sit behind a jet that slowly powers up. Apparently in the next scene they have him wear a wingsuit and walk behind the jet. Unfortunately the embedded movie clip doesn't feature the wingsuit stunt, but I'm sure we'll see it online soon.

Human Flying Squirrel over city of Plovdiv
Russian B.A.S.E jumper Valery Rozov performed awesome wingsuit flight in sky of Plovdiv and thus became first one ever flied in suit and jumped in a city of Bulgaria.
At 8 pm sharp on Sunday night Rozov jumped out from a motor-delta planner and flied like a futuristic bird in the sky above crowds of pupils celebrating their graduation.

Cold Steel
Base 434 posted a reminder that today marks the memorial day, where we should remember Lukas Knutsson.
Lukas was one of the first BASE pioneers, and one of the people who opened up the world of wingsuit flying and base to the people sitting in front of their computer screens by showing some of the best and fastest flying possible.
Check out this memorial video, made as a tribute to a man who's name every wingsuit jumper should know.
Lukas Knutsson is remembered through his website www.lukieland.se and the yearly Cold Steel award, given to a skydiver or basejumper for contributions to the sport, is a lasting memory of the mans legacy!

Goggles with integrated GPS
Engadget has a post about goggles that have an integrated GPS from which the data is projected right in front of your eyes. Pretty fucking cool!
they're equipped with a Zeal Optics' frame design with a micro LCD display, which appears to hang approximately six feet in front of the user. That head-mounted display provides real-time feedback to the wearer, including speed, latitude / longitude, altitude, vertical distance traveled, total distance traveled, a chrono / stopwatch mode, a run-counter, temperature and time.

Woman Gets Gay Man Fired for Spooning Her in Midair
From the 'only-slightly-wingsuit-related-department', a silly story in the mass media about wingsuiter and tandem master Donald Zarda getting let off his tandem duties because he apparently groped a woman during a tandem jump. What makes the whole debacle very silly is that he in fact openly gay and thus has no interest in groping women whatsoever.

After kicking ass at the World BASE Race in Norway, Espen Fadnes also took 1st place at the Pro BASE Wingsuit Race in Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland.
