Wingsuit ParaBASE. BIRDMAN FireBird. 500m.

Flatspin in a ghost 3

Second jump on the Ghost and my first from the caravan. I think I was a little pre-occupied with watching the guys that had exited before me.

A weak exit was all it took - I'd have got away with it on my Phantom but the Ghost is no where near as forgiving.

Lesson learnt...

Daredevil jumps from mountain in Antarctica

Russian Valery Rozov braved temperatures as low as minus 30C to climb a mountain in Antarctica - and then jumped off the top of it.
The climber and base jumper from Moscow had an ambition to leap from the peak of Ulvetanna mountain in the Drygalski Mountains in Queen Maud Land.
Almost 3000 meters above sea level, the summit of the mountain named Wolf's Peak in Norwegian looked a daunting task for any mountaineer, let alone one intending to plunge down the sheer face of rock using a wing suit before deploying a parachute.
The eight-strong expedition, from Russia, Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey, was flown to a plateau below the mountain and set up base camp as they prepared for the three man climbing team to scale the peak.
Rozov, his fellow climber Alexander Ruchkin and mountain photographer Thomas Senf made it to the top and had time to take in the breathtaking scenery before Rozov donned his wing suit and threw himself off the mountain.
He glided for about 45 seconds before pulling his parachute ripcord for a safe landing at the bottom.
With conditions perfect and having time on their hands while they waited to be collected by their transport plane, Rozov decided to take in two more mountains.
First was the 2,277m Tungespissen and then the Holtanna, which at 2,650m is he only mountain in the Antarctic which had previously been used by a base jumper.
Afterwards Rozov commented: "The Mountains are fantastic, the team was great. Everything came together in a fantastic way and ended in a fantastic way and I still can't believe it."

2011 - 07 - Nijmegen Wingsuit Demo Skydive

or the 4 Day Marches/Nijmegen Summer Festivals a special opening demo was organized by the Dutch Paracenter Teuge.

Though a bit wet and windy, we managed to jump and land inside the stadium. A big Philharmonic Orchestra playing the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey (The Blue Danube by Johann Strauss) during our landing.

Spotted Anouk as I was cruising at 4000, and couldnt resist a bit of a dive and flyby.
Flying the PF Venom wingsuit. Exit was 5000ft, pull at 3200ft with over a minute of freefall.

Extremely wet and slippery floors, so stand-up landings where a no-go I gave it my best try, my shoe got caught behind a small rim/edge and made me cartwheel anyways. Slip&Slide landings aside, a Mighty Awesome demo! And 2 Jarno's for the price of one!

BE FIRST: First Wingsuit Flight Over Everest

After much experience mountaineering, Joby Ogwyn, a Louisiana native and professional mountain climber, set his sights on sports that push his capacity. Ogwyn, 35, was the youngest American man to ever climb Everest when he ascended the peak over a decade ago, and the youngest to climb the highest peaks on all seven continents two years later. Joby took up the wingsuit challenge to be the first person to apply this technology to a real adventure—flying over the 'top of the world'.

Scary italian exit from this summer

Woke up in the morning smelling like sweat and antibiotics and with a raging fever. The only thing in the car worse than my headache was the artificial lemon scent I put in to disguise the horrible smells from my sick body.

The choices was to either suffer in my hot car or ascend a mountain and try to walk it off. After walking and climbing for what seemed like an eternity, but actually was about 4 hours. This exit point presented itself as the best available to us. Not a huge rockdrop, dangerous to jump 10 degrees too far left or right, and scary to approach it. My fever ridden body was definatly not happy 3 minutes before the jump. But once I was on the edge ready to go I actually liked it. Everything was under control, and It turned out to be one of the coolest exit points I have ever jumped. Let this video be a lesson of all the cool stuff that might happen if you dont stay in bed when you are sick.

2011 - 07 - Teuge -V4 FlyBy

After a cloudy day, we resorted to clear and pulls from 2900 ft.
Could resist to throw on the V4 (wingsuit) for a bit of flying, and dive past Loes Cuppen (who managed to shoot a nice video, regardless of her linetwits;) opening at 2500ft with my trusty Storm 135.

Cruised quite a bit of distance! Loving the V4!
